Survival
My throat narrows
as the hair on my arms stand up
completely straight.
Cold skin that causes such intense worry
right out of my coat.
An erie sense you wish
you could just let go of and release.
Like that of one getting pulled over
by the your science teacher.
Desperately wanting it to hurry up
Go away.
Yet sometimes it sticks around
lingering as if it's trying to be around
to stay.
Go with you gut instinct
it won't steer you wrong.
Don't later wish you had done that
all along.
A natural human insticnt were given
to survive.
Don't ignore the signs meant to help
They will keep you alive
